Well like JLV mentioned, it's more so just the direction in which the lighting shines. The farther away you go, the dimmer it gets though.

It'd be nice to have a toggle to view the tile map over the decals in the editor. Basically if you switched to the tilemap edit, it would show the tiles over the decals.
