Sweet.

Just to clarify, what is the unit of measurement for erode_limit <depth>? Is it feet below/above the original terrain? Does the limit also apply to dirt that is pushed upward (like the outside of a rut)?

Thanks!

Re: Ashewood MX

An overlay also helps with vast off track areas. I use 3-4 sizes for my off track decals: 20, 30, 40, and 80. 20 and 30 go right next to the track, where they are most visible. The 40s go outside of that, then if necessary beyond that is 80+. If it's way off track where people are only going to see ...

Re: [RELEASE] 2017 Acadia Raceway

Really digging this track! Great overall feel and flow, and I very much appreciate the care put into the environment. The lighting is a bit harsh, but otherwise it all visually fits together nicely. I like the scale, perfect width and nothing really over-the-top. There is a higher percentage of pret...

I am also unable to extract the .rar using UnRAR. Any chance of a .zip version? I liked your last track a lot and this one looks like another fun one.

Digging the textures and lighting. I'm not the best at sx, but I'd be down to give it a spin and some feedback.

Re: 2017-11-19 snapshot

I also feel as if we need some kind of "first pass" setting. For example, first pass over would act as if erode setting were on 10, while the remaining passes would be lower, like 5. Or in other words, loamy dirt that gets harder with each pass. I think this will be essential for outdoor ...

That looks pretty legit. Care to share the settings you're using?

Heck yeah! Was not expecting to see that in here, but it's a great little movie.

Some classics:
Apocalypse Now
2001: A Space Odyssey
Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans
Lawrence of Arabia
Toy Story

And a movie I wish I could have shot:

Re: Is there a easier way to do this.

Here's another approach with results similar to what JLV described: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5656 I also use this technique sometimes to make a gradient follow a path: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=23628 In addition, I lower the roundness of my br...

Re: Online erode

Btw, I am curious what erode setting you guys run on single player if you're testing out different tileinfo settings on your own? Obviously, the erode setting you use can significantly affect your perception of a particular erode depth, etc. As an extreme example, if I test my tileinfo setting at --...

Re: Online erode

Some people have started releasing tracks with two versions, a normal rutted version, and a smooth version for erode. Just how smooth the smooth version is varies. Sometimes it is helpful to have a little bit of roughness built in to get things started. You can check out the tracks here or my versio...

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2

Yeah, I'm not seeing any effects from editing the vertex normals either. It is possible to make an object shadeless without tricky normal mapping though. From this thread : Use -2 for the specular exponent. Example: JM1 -2.000000 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 I did randomly rotate my grass pat...

Re: JGSX: Castle Rock Compound

Really fun track dude! I think the rough/ruts is great. Feels ridden, and still makes for plenty of line choices. You did a really nice job blending the ruts into the berms. Solid environment as well. I like the way the sand sections look. The FMX and pit bike sections around the track top it all of...
