Heck yeah! Was not expecting to see that in here, but it's a great little movie.

Some classics:
Apocalypse Now
2001: A Space Odyssey
Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans
Lawrence of Arabia
Toy Story

And a movie I wish I could have shot:

Re: Is there a easier way to do this.

Here's another approach with results similar to what JLV described: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5656 I also use this technique sometimes to make a gradient follow a path: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=23628 In addition, I lower the roundness of my br...

Re: Online erode

Btw, I am curious what erode setting you guys run on single player if you're testing out different tileinfo settings on your own? Obviously, the erode setting you use can significantly affect your perception of a particular erode depth, etc. As an extreme example, if I test my tileinfo setting at --...

Re: Online erode

Some people have started releasing tracks with two versions, a normal rutted version, and a smooth version for erode. Just how smooth the smooth version is varies. Sometimes it is helpful to have a little bit of roughness built in to get things started. You can check out the tracks here or my versio...

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2

Yeah, I'm not seeing any effects from editing the vertex normals either. It is possible to make an object shadeless without tricky normal mapping though. From this thread : Use -2 for the specular exponent. Example: JM1 -2.000000 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 I did randomly rotate my grass pat...

Re: JGSX: Castle Rock Compound

Really fun track dude! I think the rough/ruts is great. Feels ridden, and still makes for plenty of line choices. You did a really nice job blending the ruts into the berms. Solid environment as well. I like the way the sand sections look. The FMX and pit bike sections around the track top it all of...

Re: CDTW: Monster Mountain Classic - presented by TMFR

Glad to help out! Thanks for all the tips, Race! I look forward to trying flipping the overlay/decals around on the next one. Kellen did a track walk on the "prepped" version and talked a lot about erode which is cool. Hopefully we'll see more and more people running erode on their server...

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2

Thanks Benjii. I actually hadn't tried doing a custom mipmap, as I didn't really know anything about it. But I finally decided to try and educate myself and found this post from 2010: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7293&p=177920 Which sounded way simpler than I imagined it ...

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2

Reminds me of an MVA editor shot  Looks so sick though Those were the days. http://openlightpictures.com/pub/cdslumberlandpreview-002.jpg Filling in the gaps. Now I gotta learn how to put grass all over the place. Mipmapping I'm curious to see your mipmapped texture. One problem I'm having (ag...

Re: Drone scanned track

Thanks for sharing all this stuff, Hunter. It's super interesting to see. Also, by making it available for anyone to experiment with, you've enabled the track building community as a whole to learn from it. I think this kind of free flow of information is key to the progression of content for this g...

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2

grass Looks amazing! I think a new thread might be cool to discuss this in detail. I've just started experimenting with 3D grass and think it can bring a really nice extra dimension to the environment. I haven't really hammered down a solid technique yet, but so far have been taking inspiration fro...

I rarely post about anything so for me to post about how good this track is says more than you can believe. Awesome work man! Thanks man, I'll take it! ...I don't think a track has captured the realistic feel ever before the way this one does... I'm flattered. That's what I was hoping for, so I'm g...

Re: Monster Mountain Classic presented by TM Factory Racing (Sep 28th)

Thanks for hosting and streaming Storken! A lot of fun even though I got stuck way back in that carnage at the start of moto 1. 2nd moto went a lot better.

Also, great work on the stream cameras! The track was looking pretty legit if I say so myself.
