I'd probably try to use JLV's export script instead. So I did that and followed JLV's instructions. I got closer because now I am getting an error message and the .jm file is blank. What happens if you try to export the default cube? It also just says JM1 I'd probably try to use JLV's export script instead. So I did that and followed JLV's instructions. Are you getting any error messages out of the script? It should show you a traceback if the script crashes.
