Re: MXS Twitter

Anyone else had some SQL database errors tonight? Had 3 so far tonight, don't think I've had them before on this forum. At least not recently. Just tagging jlv for his attention. There's a bot called "Crazywebcrawler" that's hammering the site. I added a line for it in the robots.txt file...

Re: FPS Drops

If it's obviously useless like adware or something I'd disable it. Otherwise, try stopping it and re-test. If doesn't improve it's probably something else so re-enable it and try disabling the next one.

Re: Traction

The system is designed for modeling a mix of static and viscous friction. So most tracks will use settings that start high for the static friction, then dip down as the static friction breaks, then ramps up again as viscous friction takes over. One of these days I'm going to try dragging a tire arou...

Re: MY TRACK DOESNT WORK!?

The built-in editor saves in "%localappdata%\MX Simulator" (aka the personal folder).

Reinstall version 1.11 using the full installer. If you still have your BMT Micro email the links should still work and are automatically updated to the 1.11 version.

Re: FPS Drops

There are some decent recommendations here:

You definitely want to disable non essential startup programs and services.

Re: FPS Drops

Someone else had the same problem and it went away when he switched MXS to fullscreen. My guess is Teamspeak has a hidden overlay that's slowing things down.

Try "Use High Detail Settings" and exiting/restarting the game.

Re: Mx Simulator on Consoles

If I ever get caught up I'll probably do a Mac port first. Not sure if there'd be a way to get all the user created content on a console so that might not be a good fit.

Re: Traction

If the traction is set to ramp up at higher slip speeds* you'll get there quicker if the bike is moving fast since a small slip at high speed will result in higher slip speed that it would at a lower speed. * "slip speed" meaning the speed of the contact patch in relation to the ground, wh...

Re: Delete multiple billboards at a time

Actually, I'm still making some fairly big changes to the erode code to hopefully fix the jump kickers problem. Thought I had it fixed but discovered a new problem.

Re: MXS Twitter

Made me think about the possibility that on an Amiga it would have been much faster for 3d polygon games to render to a copper list instead of a bitmap. Yes, compared to PC games of the same title back then you'll see amazing differences in art and framerates that were astonishing! Something else d...

Re: Rider movement

It tried it once and it wreaked havoc with the stabilizer. Keeping the rider and bikes center of gravity in line makes things much more simple for the stabilizer.

Re: 1.11 update

The folder you choose has to have version 1.10 installed already. If you don't have 1.10 installed just re-download from your BMT link for a full 1.11 installer.
