Re: Possible bug: Constant crashing when deleting decals

I've been trying to reproduce this and not having any luck. Is there anything special I have to do?

It needs execute permission. Try "chmod +x mxbin".

Changes: Terrain is now tessellated into 33x33 vertex chunks for vastly improved performance on modern GPUs. Added --terrain-wireframe command line option and /toggleterrainwireframe command. Background grid in gradient editor now expands to cover all gradient points instead of just being 100 feet t...

Re: Will the game be released on steam?

I always thought the reason for it not being on steam for this long was something to do with you getting a better cut of the sales. Steam is known for having a higher take percentage compared to other other distributors. On another note, it'd be funny to see some steam achievements  Steam does...

Re: Will the game be released on steam?

I probably will at some point. BMT Micro was great when Barb was the customer support person but now that she retired there's nothing special about them.

Developer's log

Stardate 2024-03-27-1663 Hey guys! This has been suggested quite a few times so I'll write about what I'm currently working on here. Right now I'm finishing up the new terrain tessellation code. It used to create a nearly ideal tessellation that resulted in very few polygons but lots of draw calls a...

Re: Classes in Time Trial

That is a good point. I'll do that once the UI scripting is in place.

Bumping this up again. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why 2012 Lakewood looked like I was missing a lot of decals, and through troubleshooting narrowed it down to this snapshot when the shader program settings were removed. That track used a modified shadingx2 file to get the rut ef...

It's just guessing passwords. I just started blocking IPs that keep hitting the login page but I'm sure they already guessed a lot of them. Don't use weak passwords!

Finishing up the terrain optimizations first. The lighting update will be after that. Excellent, is there any reading you can point towards on what you want to do with the lighting? The plan is to do something similar to using a diffuse irradiance environment map but not exactly since I want to mak...

Make sure it isn't in a sub-folder. You want to extract it directly to the "MX Simulator" folder.

Re: Server setting for disabling stabilizer (front end lock)

It's not even really to do with passing people at least in my eyes, it's to limit some of the bs that happens in racing. One person crashes in a corner and it causes a landmine due to the stabilizer not helping us out. Here I'm thinking that I'm fine after getting pinched by rasmus and casey, but a...

Re: Server setting for disabling stabilizer (front end lock)

Id rather a system that promotes clean racing yes, punish the punter not the victim. Like I said in the original post though, I think some server settings that allow us to tune the stablizer would be the best option. Completely off would be a bit much. You definitely should've at least tipped over ...

Re: Server setting for disabling stabilizer (front end lock)

In the clip you posted of me, do you really think I should have stayed up and the other rider went down? It just shows how bad it was. The rider whose front wheel was swept stayed up and the other rider went down. The stabilizer was too quick/strong and made racing moves work backwards. It was a rou...
