Re: Game Scripting

Depends on what it's doing. For something simple like moving an object at a specific time it wouldn't need help from the server. For moto-soccer it'd definitely need to communicate through the server.

Re: More keyboard friendly controls

I don't think making the throttle key control the rate of throttle increase would work well. There were some games that worked like that in the 80's and it was always terrible IMO. Too laggy. One thing you might try is intentionally using too high of a gear exiting the corner and then downshifting w...

Re: Game Scripting

Does it only look at frills.js? Or should it read any script located in the folder? I guess mx.frame_handler can only be defined once. It only looks in frills.js. The idea is frills.js will just have cosmetic stuff that doesn't matter for the track checksum. I'm eventually going to add another file...

You can't upgrade the demo with a key. Check your private messages.

Re: MX Simulator using mouse input as axis control

I don't think it's worth the effort. It might be possible to come up with something usable like FF1, but it'll still be worse than a joystick.

Re: Set up servers as legitimate qualifying servers @jlv

The hud is separate from the UI but I'd want both to be scripts instead of hard coded eventually.

You'd have to write a script to do that.

Re: Game Scripting

Just double checked it and it's a bug. The Y value gets overwritten when it positions the statue on the ground. There's a separate value for the ground relative height that I should have set.

Re: Game Scripting

Yes, 512 was just what was already there. Since it was one frame it didn't matter. "get_position" returns an absolute position, whereas "move_statue" interprets the Y value as ground relative. If you use the Y value from get_position it should wind up around double the rider's el...

Actually that will hide the chat but not the connect messages. If you're hosting it's probably a bad idea to hide anything.

Re: Set up servers as legitimate qualifying servers @jlv

That'll be possible when I move the hud code over to javascript. The current stuff is hard coded.

With the current scripting you can do it as a display on the track's video screen. The example in the jstest track has a page that shows lap times.

Re: Game Scripting

You can't change the seq settings. If you want to do a custom loop you want to set the seq to not loop and do all the updates in the script.

Re: THE OFFICIAL MXS SX SERIES: 2019 rF Supercross (Pro and Amateur) (NA)

Sorry. I let bombshelter's disk fill up, deleted a bunch of (but not enough) demos and it's full again. I just deleted all of them and set the auto delete time to 4 days. I think it'll be good now.
