Re: Scrap the current erode system

Would there be a way for you to put the "non breaking bump" edition of erode in while still keeping the current erode system in the game so we can have some community comparisons and opinions on the advantages/disadvantages of both. I don't even know if that would be possible having two d...

Re: 2018-07-28 snapshot

Bad news on the 2019 dynos. The Race Tech / VitalMX numbers that I've been using aren't going to be posted this year.

Re: help

There are two folders the game checks. The install folder. If you right click the shortcut you start the game with and check the properties, this will be the folder on the target line. The default location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\MX Simulator". But that's just the default. The shortcut ...

Re: Scrap the current erode system

Traction is a separate thing. If you're thinking you might get support from the rut as you're making it, it wouldn't work. The game tries not to move the ground under your wheels because it makes things inconsistent. Could you expand on this? I always had a feeling if the ground moved under you, it...

Re: Scrap the current erode system

Wasn't the old erode version just leaving a ditch behind the bike, or is that my mind playing games? The original version (from way before the current online version) worked by tracking the roost. I think that's why I called it "erode", because the roost was eroding away the dirt. Turns o...

Re: Scrap the current erode system

It's a good example of me going off the rails. I should have just done a simple system that leaves a ditch behind the bike. Instead I tried to make it model everything. People just wanted ruts and I gave them braking and acceleration bumps, which seems to actually be a negative for most people. HotF...

Re: 240hz monitor support.

I think you'd be surprised at how many games have that much lag built in for the same reason. I personally wouldn't want the lag and would probably disable it and run 128 Hz. But sometimes the smoothness would be more important. Making videos would be a good example where that's the case.

Re: Scrap the current erode system

I probably should have just made something that leaves a ditch behind the bike like the other games do. Would have been easy and everyone would have been happy. But noooooo, I had to have braking bumps...

Re: 240hz monitor support.

Actually it could interpolate frames to do higher rates despite the physics running at 128Hz. I might do that at some point. It would add about 8ms of lag though since it'd be interpolating between the last two frames instead of just showing the newest frame.

Re: Erode status/update

Another couple of things: - The way the terrain grid is created, could this cause a problem or significant difference on how ruts form (specifically in straight lines on jump take offs and such, not as much corners because there you are always crossing the grid?) Reason being, we had an AUS SX roun...

Re: Please move the dabb Notification to bottom center of screen.

It does ghost out riders who aren't progressing around the track. Hard to do more than that since it's not feasible to make an algorithm that judges intent.

Once I get some time on my hands I'm going to put together a series that caters to beginners. I don't know if that will bring in hoards of new players but I think it's needed in any case.

Re: Can't join elsinore 19804 without HORRIBLE ping now

The thing is elsinore.mxsimulator.com:19804 is the same server as all the other elsinore servers. That's why I thought it might just be because it's busier and has erode on.

Re: Can anyone help me find my screen shots using wineskin on a Mac????

Not sure if this is the same on a Mac but on Linux it's this:

~/.wine/drive_c/users/$USER/Local Settings/Application Data/MX Simulator/

Where $USER is your username.
