Re: Online Track Editing

I wouldn't use the same system for online track editing. For the editor you'd want it to understand things like gradients so the editors would all be in sync. Plus it'd be way more efficient to say "add a point to the gradient here then do this brush stroke" vs "here are 10,000 new he...

Re: Option to favorite gear/bikes/helmets

Scripting could be something that would allow us to make features with the UI like a favorite option would it not? Yes. Obviously the scripting system would need to have the functions to implement a UI and I'd have to convert the current UI to use it, but the scripting engine is obvious first step ...

Re: 2018-01-16 snapshot

Actually, if I didn't buffer up the erode points the overhead from the headers would more than double the bandwidth used for erode. Each packet can have up to 64 erode points so if you sent them one by one you'd have up to 64x the header overhead. On top of that, each point is merged with its neighb...

Re: Option to favorite gear/bikes/helmets

Here's my plan:

1. Add scripting.
2. Do all this stuff with the new scripting engine.
3. ???
4. Profit!

You can only hope

Pretty sure it's just the fix to stop your game from crashing when you touch someone.

That's what I'm hoping for. There was a divide by zero when two objects centers intersect exactly.

Re: Transferring Mx Sim with USB from old computer to new.

If it's a fresh Windows install you should install the driver for your graphics card. You're probably using the Microsoft GDI driver right now.

If it makes you guys feel any better, I bought $50 worth of Intel put options the day before the spectre/meltdown news broke. Made a quick $650! Why didn't I bet more? Because I'm a damn fool!

Re: Full and Restricted lock speed

Actually, I mixed that up. The degrees are from center and full lock should have been 45 degrees. So it'd be 30 degrees at 16.67 f/s.

Re: Game Suggestions

I just read about HDR environment maps and it sounds like a really good solution. If I understood it correctly the light sources would be projected from a sphere map onto the track? So from outside the track in. That would work really well in a stadium environment but what if I would like to have l...

Key server downtime tomorrow 10 PM EST

I just received a notification from my server host that the key server is going down tomorrow at 10 PM EST (2018-01-18 3:00:00 AM UTC) to patch the meltdown exploit that you might have heard about recently. (That's right, perfectly timed for the start of the pro SX.) It should be down for about 15 m...

Re: Full and Restricted lock speed

The inverses are 1/10 (.1) and 1/50 (.02). The midpoint of the inverses would be .06 which comes out to 16.67 feet/second when you invert it back. At that speed the lock will halfway between 15 and 90 degrees (52.5). Basically what it's trying to do is choose an angle that gives you a steady roll ra...
