I'm also curious if you've done anything to scripting yet?

More tiles won't affect performance. Nothing done on scripting aside from evaluating some javascript engines.

Re: Erode online

JLV, can tileinfo change after erode has gone a specific depth? I want it to be slippery when we get done to the ply wood in SX. It can't do that now at least. For a stadium floor an underground statue with a plywood texture would be better anyway since it'd show through when you hit it. Ano...

"server, erode x" will be the online equivalent of using --erode x.

Re: Erode online

How will this affect your lighting engine? Are we going to see and significant updates to the current engine or is there a new one? What happens with the shading and x2 files? It's the same as when you use erode now. It re-shades where the track is modified. Any baked in changes in the shading file...

Re: Server Help

My guess would be you're missing an object pack that the track uses.

Just got basic erode working online today. I have some more work to do to make demos record the erosion. Should have a new snapshot ready for testing soon.

I switched to a controller. I was hoping it'd help my speed but so far I'm actually slower this way. (Yes, that is possible!)

Re: Out of Virtual Memory???

Set "ground texture resolution" to 128x128 and restart the game. You might want to just use the "normal" presets if you want to go back to sane defaults.

I agree. Maybe for spectating but not when you're actually racing.

Re: Chromebook Simulator?

The only way it'd run on a Chromebook would be if it was an x86 Chromebook with a real Linux distribution installed instead of Chrome OS. Not sure if there's a Chromebook fast enough to run the game at a decent FPS.

Re: Compress textures?

The only reason to turn off ground mipmaps is if you're running an older Intel GPU with bugged mipmaps on GPU rendered textures.

Nothing intentional. I think they're sorted by the date the topic was posted.

Re: Camera Help

It's actually due to the distance. The depth buffer is less precise at long distance. It's harder to notice at wide FOVs. The zoomed in camera makes it stand out more. --zdepth 24 should help.
