some good info for coming on the last few pages, really made me think about how I model something. Im new and go way high poly lol. Got to change that.
When you guys talk about modeling with planes.... How in the heck does this give you a 3rd dimension, wouldnt a plane be just two axis's?

I also like the Low>High version better since you already got your base model, and all you need for it is pretty much just champher and turbo smoothing it (at simple objects). The other way around from high poly to low poly needs a lot more work I'd say, since you kinda need to remodel all again. s...

I still have the basic block version saved before I went through and smoothed everything for a good looking result. Maybe use the blocky version as the model and use the smoothed as a high poly and bake maps?? This is where my newbness to modeling sucks. I know maps are used to show detail and help...

No I just created a rectangle, moved the mesh to my liking and put them were they are. Sorry I'm newer to modeling. What would be best for creating an object for tracks? And how many tris is a good amount?

Finally got the tracks to look the way I wanted. I am going to redo the body next then start on the blade.
