The template comes up with the black skin and a wireframe on top, merged down into one layer.

idk if you've figured it out yet, but i know when i used gimp to view the layers box you click on windows at the top and then click dockable dialogs and then layers. When the layers window is opened you can just click the eyeball to hide and unhide layers. Yeah I know, but if I hide all the bleu la...
