Re: Wells Estate & Kennel *Release*
Incredible work on the environment, and 3 different versions to boot! Stoked to see 3D grass (what's your technique?), and the SX track under the lights really brings back that feeling of Saturday night races at the local track. The path lighting around the property is a super cool effect too. Huge ...

Re: 2019 MotoOption Supercross Round 9 Atlanta
That's a great step-by-step, jlv, thanks! In Photoshop, you can get a similar effect in less steps with the High Pass filter. 1. Duplicate your base texture. 2. On the newly duplicated layer, Filter>Other>High Pass... Set the radius to taste. The higher the radius the more low frequency detail will ...

This is dope. Love the excuse to race more custom tracks. Erode needs to be turned on though!

Re: decals require original track
It wasn’t clear from your post whether you’ve done this already, but just in case: If you want everything self contained, you also have to make sure that the decals that you are referencing are actually located in your track’s folder. So if you want to use “cooldirtdecal.png” from huskycompound, mak...

Re: Scattering Objects with a Density Map
... Yeah, the script will just export whatever objects are selected at the time you run it. So it won’t export the individual scattered objects unless they exist as separate objects in Blender—which is what the “convert” step is supposed to do. Not sure why the convert isn’t working for you. Before...

Re: No shadows, only appears on my trail
Looks like you need to update the shading. Zoom all the way out and paint the map with the Raise tool with the sub mode set to Lower Only. This can also be fixed by changing the shaders setting in your graphics settings, but it’s always a good idea to update the shading on the track itself before re...

Re: blender Object texture mapping Help
Just looking at it, I'm not sure why you'd want to split the object into multiple statues. However, since the actual texture linked to any object is defined in the "statues" file, it is easy to have multiple objects reference the same texture. For example: [100 0 100] 0 @track/stand_frame.jm @track/...

Also, try digging up some of haggqvist’s stuff. He kind of took mxs visuals to another level.

Re: Decal spacing
thanks for the info. I want to learn so bad how to make a overlay but I have no clue were to start. I think they look so much better than using decals. Anyway I will use a square decal thanks! Check this thread for overlay basics: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3606#p89626 Most p...

Google Earth has a history tool, which allows you to look at and download older satellite imagery. I’d start there.

Re: Decal spacing
Not sure about turning the spacing down lower, but imo a better solution would be to use a higher spacing with a more straight-edged decal. With really low spacing each decal is almost entirely covered by the next, so only a small portion of each decal is actually. In other words the majority of tex...

Track Building Time-Lapses
While working with the EMF track crew on this years' nationals, I started recording time-lapses of the things I was working on, partly to help me remember how to do things, but also to share with any other track creators who might be interested. First up is my process in creating the terrain for Iro...
