Re: FAQ: DualShock4 on PC (Mapping for MXS)

If you don't use the sticks for throttle, the controller is fine. If you do, you have to reduce the upper and lower bounds on the axis. I'm still playing around trying to find a good value, I think .8-.85 is pretty close.

Re: PS4 controller on MXS

Yeah, check the last post I made in the thread puma linked. Honestly, I prefer the PS3 controller for MXS. I use the right stick for throttle, and the response is different on the DS4. I constantly get front wheel drop when going off jumps, it's like the throttle doesn't open up all the way.

Re: xinput

nvm, figured out the controller inputs are mapped in the config. You can just copy and paste the line from any other positive axis you've mapped within MXS, and replace the axis number. RT is axis 3, and LT is axis 4. Though I have to say, I don't like the analog sticks on the DS4 for this game. The...

Re: xinput

Sorry, I should probably elaborate. The problem is that the standard DS4 mappings assign both an axis and a button to the triggers. So the trigger is simultaneously digital and analog at the same time. When you try to assign a trigger within MXS, it maps the button press rather than the axis.

Re: xinput

Ah, how much work would it be to update? I'd like to use the PS4 controller but need to remap some buttons.

Actually, is there a config file or something that specifies the mapping you want to use? If I could just type out the axis/buttons I want to map that would probably work to.

Re: 2013-08-15 snapshot

JLV, could you add a delay for activating the collision of an unghosted bike? So many times I've had a bike un-ghost right in the middle of me, causing a crash. Making the collision take 5 or 10 seconds to activate would really help prevent a lot of frustration, as we could get out of the way.

Re: Petition for JLV to make 1:1 scale supercross tracks

I suggested this last year. Some people tried downscaling a few of the 2011 tracks and posted some links to them. There was a decent amount of support, but JLV isn't a fan of the idea as he thinks it'd make the track too narrow for online racing.

Re: On screen sit/dab indicator?

I play in 1st person, I've never had any trouble telling when I'm sitting or standing. Your view is closer to the handlebars when you're sitting.

Re: 2013 Race Factory Gaming Nationals

Can a "lite" version of the track be released? My computer can't handle it even when I bump the graphics settings down to High FPS, and I've never had a problem with any other track.

Hangtown is my favorite national, it's technical and requires good line choice to ride consistently. If you keep crashing, ride smarter.
