How are we gonna be sure that no one cheats(e.g editing texturelist / smoothing bumps ruts jumps)
If we get online i bet some ppl will edit there texturelists to get more traction and stuff like that.
Does .saf-ing your track work? so noone can get acces to the track files. If not, I bet cheating is easily done.

for online everyone uses the host track not there own version of the track... or so i think

I've asked JLV about this, and he said that there will be a checksum run before the race to make sure all the important files are the same, like texturelist, timing gates, etc.

and what would happen to this person if the file isnt there or different?

The track will load with the file the checksum thinks is the correct file

well all most all of the track i have are missing the texturelist... or i dont have em

Pretty sure the track can't run if its missing a texturelist, so it would be there. But yeah, if you dont have the right file, the checksum will make the game load with the correct file.

hey with the online play if you have removed files such as hay bales and objects because your pc is to slow to run it will this matter?

no that was once it was my .hf but most of the time it was my texture list or tile map

Here in lies the problem. If the objects you removed are hittable isn't that cheating? However if you don't remove them the game will be unplayable, or you'll be all over the track trying to ride while dealing w/ the lag. For the sake of good racing, I'd prefer the first, but when I got beat by a guy who is riding through the area where I have hay bales and can't ride I'd be irate. The only option that makes seance is to make all of our object files match. So in the end I'd much rather have fair racing, over good racing. Pretty much stop being cheap and upgrade your computer. My question is will the EXE be included in the checksum list? We're all aware that the physics are hard coded into the EXE as of now, which is fairly safe. However, someone who is good w/ a hex editor and who has some spare time on their hands would have no trouble modifying the physics to their needs...
