dude i feeel so bad,u know your a true motocross rider when you've been through so much pain and kept going. And when all else fails and you cant ride anymore....you always have mxsimulator, which is the closest thing to motocross. Get well dude,if i could i would donate a couple bucks to help you out dude.remember, motocross is like a family...when one person is down ,everyone helps to get them back up.

Re: OUCH. :(
a little off topic but when i was riding a 125 on the road i came off as my rear wheel lost traction i landed hard on my back did'nt break anything i jumped straight up. but even that little fall has caused me to have back problems i came off when i was 17 now 19 years old still riding but back aches everyday and it could be possiable affect my growth as men don't stop growing till the age of 21 so listen to your docters when the say things, as they know best for your health no matter how much you wanna jump back on your bike.

Get well soon Shawn, and best of luck to you and your family. Because recovering is not a 1man job.
and OMG what kind of doctors do some of you guys have? Do you know you can die from so many concussions on such a young age or get any other form of heavy braindamage?
It sounds crazy, dieing from a concussion, but when you're getting almost 20 before reaching 18 year, pfew. Not healthy at all.

Re: OUCH. :(
Second-impact syndrome (SIS) is a condition in which the brain swells rapidly and catastrophically after a person suffers a second concussion before symptoms from an earlier one have subsided. This deadly second blow may occur days, weeks or minutes after an initial concussion,[1] and even the mildest grade of concussion can lead to SIS.[2] The condition is often fatal, and almost everyone who is not killed is severely disabled. The cause of SIS is uncertain, but it is thought that the brain's arterioles lose their ability to regulate their diameter, and therefore lose control over cerebral blood flow, causing massive cerebral edema.[2]
Most cases of SIS have occurred in young people, who are thought to be particularly vulnerable. Young athletes are most at risk. In order to prevent SIS, guidelines have been established to prohibit athletes from returning to a game prematurely. For example, professionals recommend that athletes not return to play before symptoms of an initial head injury have resolved.
