the stronger they start to run, the tighter the tolerances are getting...i.e. very little room for error for all those moving metal parts

If I were you, I'd check the clearance, also, how many hours do you think you put on it in 2 yrs??

Ya I ride just as much as you do, I would check your valves before you have a major problem, the only reason I say this is that Honda's usually have alot of power in the top end, so honda riders usually ride it in the high R's, whereas yamaha's have a decent amount of low to mid, with some good top end, but most yamaha riders keep it in the mid range as it has enough power to maintain the speed/HP, and with just a little throttle it gets into the high R's...I know about the honda's b/c my friends have a '04 and a '07 w/ big bore 500 (490cc) kit

Hey, someone got Weil! His first name really is unfortunate, I think there's a reason that only one year was touted as the "Adolf Weil racing Replica." The '77 "250AW" as they called it, is one of my dad's bikes and it seems to be the one he likes the most. A very weird bike, feels like no other in the world but it'll whip an open-class bike almost anywhere if the rider's good with it.

Here's another MX racer, this time from the early '70s mostly. He didn't ride for the championships or anything but was nevertheless probably the most famous man to ever race a motorcycle that decade.

No, you're completely right. McQueen was a great MX racer and was the primary producer of the motorcycle cult classic "On Any Sunday." It's amazing to see him racing in the movie, the man could really haul ass on that old Husqvarna. I mention the Husqvarna only because the early-'70s Huskies were very bizarre bikes with strange characteristics unlike their more predictable competitors. They must've been good though, because every other bike in the movie was a Husky. :|
