MXS Race Coverage

Post by Osari52 »

Hey all you MXS players!
My name is Kellen- Journalist/ MX Racer/ MXS player. I am relatively new to the game but I do keep up on all of the happenings and watch the Supercross races that race factory hosts. Being a journalist, I have my own website/blog in which I write about all things Motocross. As my interest grew in MXS I decided that I would like to cover several aspects of the game. I contacted JLV and told him my idea, and he liked it. Race Factory already does an awesome job with their coverage, I am just another journalist writing about the game and what's going on. So here's the plan;

TRACK ANALYSIS
The Supercross tracks are released to the public and opened for qualifying every Monday. So on Tuesday, I am going to post up an Analysis of each track and talk about different ways to do rhythm sections, passing areas, grip level of the track, and general laptimes so that riders can improve and see what the fast guys are doing.

RACE REPORT
The races take place on Thursday nights, so on Friday, I will put together a story about what happened in the 250 and 450 classes, points standings(unofficial) and hopefully various quotes from the racers about the race.

FEATURED RIDER
Do you want to be more noticed in the MXS community for who you are? Contact me, send me some of your screenshots, and tell me your accomplishments as well as various different info and I will write up a story about you.

All of the stories will be 100% unbiased. I would love it if you guys would contact me and let me know how the track is or how the race went or anything! I also know that there are cases of head hunting where you guys get into it on the track. In those cases I will only write about it if I get both sides of the story.

My website is http://brauerblogs.wordpress.com (I'm changing the name soon) so you guys can go check it out. I also run my own amateur Motocross team and me and my teammate get together every week and have a podcast show. I will start talking about all things MXS on this show so if you want to listen in or even be a guest you are always welcome!

I hope that I get to know all of you guys so that I can talk to you on a regular basis and get some in depth insight on the game. Please do not use vulgar language on my website or emailing me. I respect all of you guys for how well you play the game no matter what level you play it at!

I am really looking forward to covering the game and the races and giving you all more recognition that you deserve. I hope you guys like all of the ideas and will follow all of my posts!

Thank you so much!

Haha thanks guys! And like I said it's just a start and I'll work hard to expand the coverage and hopefully you all will be open to talk to me. If I want a quote from you, I'll proabably just drop you a PM and if you don't respond no worries! I know I'm a total stranger at the moment haha but I want to get to know all of you and if you ever have something to say to me go for it because I would love actual input from the riders incorporated into my stories to add some flavor instead of the same boring race report or track analysis everytime haha! Best of luck to all of you at Anaheim 2 tomorrow night! :D

Quick FYI...

The traction on the tracks from week to week is constant. Discussing that on your blog will make you seem ignorant. :) The reason everyone, every week, asks if the traction is changed it because of the unfamiliarity of the track at the start of each new week. I think the only curve ball JLV throws at us during the season is a seperate "mud" traction used on the insides of some corners at the Daytona round.

@Prodigy= Thanks! That will certainly help :D
@Phathry= 10-4 :D I kinda figured I just hear people talk about it a lot but when I play I don't notice a difference. Maybe I'll talk about the prefered gear you should be in through different sections and coming in and out of corners instead.

I did email racefactory before I posted this because JLV recommended it but I didn't hear anything back but I would love to work with anybody to improve the coverage.
