Advance riding help
Advance riding help
I just have a few questions to see if im doing stuff right. I'll say how I do it then you correct me if I'm wrong or list your own way.
Seatbounce:
lean back and sit down right as your compressing into the face?
Scrub:
Either a big whip (hence leaning over on the take off ramp)
or
for a bubba scrub style whip where you turn into the face of the jump.. Do you lean over while leaning foward, then at the lip turn the oppisite way and lean back. I'm really not sure.. but thats the way I do it.
Fast turning?:
Brake then as soon as you let off the brakes, get on the gas. I heard from a few people to just pin it, let the rear end slide a little, but usually stay in a gear where the bike has instant power, instead of popping the clutch.
Just give some feedback on how some of you guys ride.
I'm really just worried about seatbouncing correctly and the bubba scrub thing.
(and im not a begginer lol, I run top C class times haha)

Re: Advance riding help
TOP SECRET: Hold the brake and gas at the same time in a corner to have a controlled powerslide. I just told my only trick to mxsim...
Re: Advance riding help
front or rear? cause i drag the rear sometimes, just like on my real bike
Re: Advance riding help
I know if it's a flat, off camber, or even a turn with a little berm, the back end of the bike is always out. I don't know if it's faster than squaring the corner off, but it looks and feels fast to me.

Re: Advance riding help
I think we are back to the good old saying!
Just practice more... I Know its annoying to hear but its true

Re: Advance riding help
haha i know. I'm just mostly worried about seatbouncing. cause I think it helps sometimes, then other times I think it's just wasted energy. (my technique is lean back and sit when your compressing into the jump)
Re: Advance riding help
Seatbounce (note the rider is standing at the beginning of the sequence shot, and look how compressed the suspension is on takeoff on both):

Slam your ass into the seat. Pretty simple. The timing of it is important.
It's easy to tell if it's actually making a difference or not. In my experience, seatbouncing definately gets you higher and further.

and you did that without leaning back while sitting down into the face?
Re: Advance riding help
I'm leaning back and sitting.

Re: Advance riding help
either 1. you don't have the latest snapshot
2. you haven't assigned a button to lean back
3. you have the demo.
now which one is it?

Re: Advance riding help
interesting tips , gonna try braking and acceleration in corners for more control during powerslide , still need to get used to a better button for sit/dab cause clicking in the left joystick is terrible cause i also steer with it
wish i had 4 controllable hands

Re: Advance riding help
sliding = no power, try to come out of the corner as straight as possible and stand up as soon as possible to get as mutch traction as possible. i seatbounce standing sometimes and i think it helps. when scrubbing i do it like a whip just turning before leaving but i let off the gas and then break tap as soon as i left the jump to be able to bring it back as soon as possible.
