My budget is in the $1000 and I don't need a monitor, I was planning on using my tv but I would need a mouse and keyboard

For $1000, I'd probably go 4790k (or 4690k) and 970. If I have time later, I'll a pcpartpicker together for you Socal

This is what I've got for you. I went G3258 on a z97 board because it's unlocked and will overclock like a boss (which means you may want an AIO water cooler, but I stuck with air) I also dropped from the 970 to the 960 because it will do everything you want at relatively low power consumption, although the PSU is big enough to support a 970 in case you would want to upgrade when you had the money. I did this so that you could get an 850 evo at 250 gb which will allow for faster OS loads, and there's also SOME extra room for certain priority applications. (I emphasize some because 250 gb still isn't much) I kinda wanna hear what everyone else has to say about. Also, the Source 530 is a relatively cheap full tower which can make it easier to build in when it comes to wire management and it has a built in fan hub (I don't know if there's a way to control the fans that are connected to it or not) which makes adding additional fans later on much easier (fan hubs can save your life sometimes). Only real draw back to the G3258 is the number of cores. Being that its dual core, multi core applications will hurt, but if you're just playing sim, once you overclock the CPU you'll be flying in the clouds

No.

Sorry this build makes no sense. A $100 PSU and a $100 case but only a G3258 and 960? I agree a SSD would be nice but that is a cheap upgrade, swapping a 960 for a 970 is expensive because you end up with a $200 GPU that is collecting dust.

One thing I forgot to mention on mine is the pricecheck. If you go with an all NCIX build it comes to ~$1000 but if you price match the 970 to Amazon at checkout its $70 cheaper there, ala the $930 I came up with. Also, http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=7842

That Pentium was a short lived story IMO. It is a great thing, single core performance out of this world but then some games started checks and wouldn't even start without 4 cores, its completely lost my support. Whats the point of a cheap gaming CPU if you can't play everything with it? This is also a guy who doesn't want to build his own PC, therefore it may be shallow of me to think so but, I don't see him getting into OC things which is why I went with a strong, non overclockable option that will run well out of the box without the need of anything after the fact. Same goes for the GPU, I think putting the most money in things that are harder/scary to change is money well spent and it will push itself to its max potential by default. I agree for $1000 a SSD would have been nice but its an easy add later and not something that will affect FPS which is first priority in a gaming rig to me, also why I got a cheapo keyboard/mouse combo. I bought an i7/780 combo and that same keyboard/mouse until I had another $150 saved up for a mech keyboard, mouse, and mousepad and I'm really happy I did it that way. There is also no need for a full tower case unless you are doing some sort of large component build, in his case a midtower will fit everything and is cheaper. Same goes for the PSU, it fits the watt demand well but for budget sake the efficiency isn't the most important thing but, I wouldn't want to go below a bronze level.

I appreciate everyone's input so far, I think as of right now Pumas build is the most appealing to me. But if anyone else has any other input I'm more than interested to hear it
