So I see a lot of people in this forum asking if a "this" pc or "that" pc will run the game fine and I decided to post a cheap build that would both run the game (MXSIM) and most other games just fine. Some of the parts may or may not go up or down in price so this price was at the time of this post.

Some of the parts can be swapped out such as the Case and Optical Drive... which won't impact performance. This PC build should play MX Sim just fine and also any other game its fed as long as you don't attempt a 4k resolution.

I've got one saved just because people ask. Lowest I got is $600. Using the 860k is a good idea but its such an aged platform that I can't recommend someone buy it new knowing its already on its way out.

The i7 fills the hyperthreaded i5 role. That's the point.

The i3 has HT to make it "quad core", the i5 has 4 real cores, to add HT to it makes it an i7.

Basically a 2 core non HT CPU should be called a I1, then all is right with the world again.

As far as the build I think since the revelation that is DX12 might as well swap the 960 for a 280/380. Its a little more expensive (~$25) but its a little more GPU for the $ IMO and is more future proof although a build like this is almost "temporary" until the person gets a full time job and can afford a "proper" build.

Check eBay, i bought a built rig and i run 40 riders at 90FPS nationals and 125fps on SX for $350 shipped.

The Problem with the 280/380 is watts. The AMD cards require a bit more PSU than the 960 which would run the bill up even more. Also the 960 IS a DX12 card according to Nvidia's website. Like I explained above as long as the user doesn't attempt to run Far Cry 4 at a 4k res he/she should be just fine.

Well Windows 10 is "kinda" free if you have a previous OS to upgrade from. Also I see you opted for the 950... I too thought about the 950 but figured I'd go with a cheaper CPU and a more powerful GPU that can be migrated to another build later. The 950 is a good choice if your lacking PSU horsepower.

Yes the 900s are DX12 capable, they just are getting smoked by AMD cards so far.

the 380 requires 70 more watts vs the 960, TBH 600w is lowest I would buy anyways its only a few bucks more than a 500w.

I don't even like AMD btw, just adding my 0.02 is all.
