+1DonnieTheDealer wrote:Not sure what shortening the bar length did but it feels like a completely different game. I don't feel like I am using the same advanced and I can't go three corners without crashing. The leaning feels drastically different. Could this be due to something in this snapshot? It feels like my roll damping and roll limit angle/factor have been changed. Sometimes I'm just not feeling it and am having a bad day on the game and just suck, but this has been going on every time I've gone to play the game since the snapshot. The bike just feels awkward.

Exactly what I thought... I had to change my whole stability to get it too what it was before the updateDonnieTheDealer wrote:Not sure what shortening the bar length did but it feels like a completely different game. From what I know JLV didn't change anything except for how wide the collisions of the handlebars are. I'm not noticing any difference in the advanced setup at all.ROSE822 wrote:Exactly what I thought... The collisions on the handlebars have always been too wide. The collisions in MXS are made out of spheres. Two spheres on the handlebars to be exact. One on the left, and one on the right side. These spheres were originally wider than the handlebars itself. That meant that when it looked like you could still lean into a rut like .5 feet more, it'd kick you up and you'd crash without actually looking like you hit the ground at all.
The new collisions (the ones from this snapshot) are roughly as wide as the handlebars. The collision spheres are now positioned exactly where the rider's hand is positioned as well. The spheres still have a radius of .5 feet. That means that from the center of the sphere (rider's hand position), the sphere is .5 feet (15,24cm) outwards. I don't think that the distance between the center of the riders hand to the end of the handlebars is more than 0.5 feet, it's probably less. So that means that the collisions are still wider than the actual handlebars, yet it's much closer to real life than before.
The problem you are experiencing at the moment is that you can lean much lower without flipping or crashing. Going lower also means it's easier to go too low and slide out (without flipping or crashing, except when hitting your head on the ground now). With the previous collisions you couldn't go as low, because the bar's collision spheres would either make you slide (in these slides it's impossible to hit your head on the ground, since the handlebar's collisions were too wide), flip or bounce you up again. You're not used to the new collisions yet, and it isn't really noticable that you're leaning in more and going lower than normal, but I'm sure you are leaning more and going lower.
Just try and get used to how much you can lean with these new collisions without 'broomsticking' and flipping. I'm sure you'll love it.
I also think that the tracks can be a lot more realistic with these collisions. After playing Sorketorp and Benkeboda from Haggqvist with these settings I'm in love even more. The tracks are awesome and you really can go low in the ruts now without being stood up again. I'm having way more fun on these tracks then on any other tracks at the moment. The rF AMA tracks are a lot of fun as well, but since the ruts are pretty big you can go wide open everywhere now. Making tracks with small ruts, bumps and slicker tractions really work well in this game now, if done well.

Also, here's where the collisions were discussed before this snapshot.

Re: 2016-10-23 snapshot
I was aware of how the collisions worked/sized and everything, but I didn't think of it making the rider able to lean farther over with the same settings in the advanced. Guess I'll just have to do some testing when I get the time.

After I try and open the download, it just says "can't find game data". How do I fix this?

IMO the whole bar collision thing kinda ruined the game. I don't even know how to explain what new problems it's created, but the game is unplayable now

Well, at least you cite in your sig that you're good at raging. IMO it's sublime what it did for riding.DonnieTheDealer wrote:IMO the whole bar collision thing kinda ruined the game. I don't even know how to explain what new problems it's created, but the game is unplayable now

I tested with Vista and 7 but still didn't have any luck reproducing the crash on exit. Does it matter which track the server is running?ROSE822 wrote:Windows 7, to make your game crash just go in a online game and exit out of the game once loaded injlv wrote:Thanks. Is anyone getting the crash with 8.1 or 10?
