Yes, the 9800GT is a good card. I'd definitely recommend it.

9800gt is a good card, but you can find 8800gt's for like 50$ and its the EXACT SAME CARD.

I'm also looking for a new video card. Would i be able to run the graphics up high with 10 guys on the gate and it not be choppy? or do other things affect the choppiness besides the card?

your cpu does.. if your cpu sucks, it'll be a bottleneck for a fast gfx card and it wont run any better at all
