No, it has an installer. Just save the file then double-click it and follow the installer instructions.

Much more simple than I though it would be! I figured it out 2 seconds after I posted.

please help i have been trying to get this to work but when i go to save the file it wont let me click next what am i doing wrong

I'm having this same problem. I have the .saf already done, but the .exe install won't let me do anything past running it. Selecting a different folder, making a new one, nothing lets me click next to install the update. The old .exe is already renamed also.

Don't rename the old EXE. Make sure to point the new installer where the MX.EXE is located as well.

If your next button is grayed out it means the folder you've selected does not have "zzzz.saf" in it. If you aren't sure where you have MX Simulator installed, search for that file. The folder you find is the one you want to install in.
