Re: OUCH. :(
you would honestly get me a shirt from those guys :O that would make me so so happy.... you have no idea. i met doug henry at monster mountain with his roll cage bike and we talked for abit. hes a nice guy. and you have no idea how much i would love that! and iv bin to over 5 docters. i know i have my concussions racking up. and im wait out of the safe limet. i sometimes forget simple things like names and simple tasks. which i never used to do. but i think ill be ok. and my brain hasent swelled its bin bleeding alittle on my glands. near the center of my brain as you may know. brain surgury is safe what so ever!. it could easly kill you or leave you paralized. not to mention how deep in my brain it is. so i desided. after lots of thinking and talking with close friends and family. and now im asking you guys... :/ i personally desided. not to have the surgury. because id rather pass on than leave the berdon of being a vegtible with my family. personal choice. and id like to know what you guys think. this isnt final because im praing with many others that it does get better. but no matter what i will sit on that bike again.

Holy shit dude... People develop major health issues later in life with just one. I would take their advice, 13 concussions by your age is fucking serious. In any case, whatever you choose to do I hope you have a fast recovery man. Be careful.shawn 24 wrote:un likly. im on my 13 concussion and im only 17. so there nervous about me riding anymore
Re: OUCH. :(
Seeing people's comments, Made me want to post a little something.
Raced motocross since I was 4, Turn 19 in April. I have broken 32 bones and have had 14 concussions. I've accomplished a lot of my goals in racing but deff didn't come close to achieving my dreams, but hey, that's life. I thought motocross was all that mattered besides family and friends. Now that I have realized my chances of going pro are very slim, I decided to pursue another one of my dreams. Music. People say rap isn't for white people, But I say if your still judging people because of race, Not only is that ignorant but it is also pathetic lol... I lived with the motto, "Pain is temporary, Glory is forever" my whole life. Got a baby on the way which has helped me see there is much more to life than racing. But racing is a life style which I will never forget. But to those of us who injuries hold us back, JLV IS SAVING US WITH THIS GAME. I can't thank him enough and I think people take his work for advantage. I won't. JLV your the fucking man. Be smart guys, Ride for fun and be safe, It's not worth your life. Think bout your family and friends. Your breaking their hearts, trust me. Anyways, Ride safe, Live safe, Fuck safe.
... I'm kinda baked so if this makes you laugh, I'll enjoy everyone's funny ass comments lol. Later.

Re: OUCH. :(
Shawn, all I can say about this is; Stop riding over your head. People dont get that many injuries at your age by riding within their limits.
I hope you heal up to 100% so you can ride again, but seriously, only do what your skills allow you to do and dont go past it.

Thats how Andrew 'Sharky' Mcfarlane died. He got back on the bike too early after being knocked out and spun on a muddy jump and hit his head, the last thing he did was take his goggles off.socalmx wrote:Second-impact syndrome (SIS) is a condition in which the brain swells rapidly and catastrophically after a person suffers a second concussion before symptoms from an earlier one have subsided. This deadly second blow may occur days, weeks or minutes after an initial concussion,[1] and even the mildest grade of concussion can lead to SIS.[2] The condition is often fatal, and almost everyone who is not killed is severely disabled. The cause of SIS is uncertain, but it is thought that the brain's arterioles lose their ability to regulate their diameter, and therefore lose control over cerebral blood flow, causing massive cerebral edema.[2]
Most cases of SIS have occurred in young people, who are thought to be particularly vulnerable. Young athletes are most at risk. In order to prevent SIS, guidelines have been established to prohibit athletes from returning to a game prematurely. For example, professionals recommend that athletes not return to play before symptoms of an initial head injury have resolved.

There's a difference between getting hurt by fucking up, gettin taken out, hitting an unexpected kicker, etc., and getting hurt because you're riding ast your limits.White Owl wrote:Nah I'm not B Mayzee, He's wack, Suckin up to lil wayne and shit child pleassseee. haha. I think this sums it up nicely:
Person that doesnt ride over his head: R.Villopoto.
Person that Does ride over his head: J. Stewart
Person that won Supercross, Nationals, Motocross of Nations, and Monster Energy Cup in 2012: R. Villopoto.
And lets not forget Kevin Windham, Chad Reed, and Ryan Dungey. Guys that are at the top of our sport and are ridiculously consistent.
