Well, seeing as this has turned into a Historic MX Mystery Racer Competition, I might as well join in! By the way, I WISH that was a picture of me on the '79 Maico!

Wrong, lol.
A hint, this rider was German and was often noted for his smooth riding style and for remaining competitive into his 30s.

I see that picture everywhere, but I can't remember who it is.

There's Jeff Ward riding.

Diehl, I'm going to guess that's either Marty Smith or Steve Wise. I'm not so good on Honda riders.
Still no one's figured out the German guy I posted. Rather sad, really.

Actually Yamaha 450's are one of the best 450's...ask most people that own them and they will tell you that you rarely have to check valve clearance (my '05, I check the valves every 4-5 rides regardless of the hours I put in it, I know honda 450 riders wouldn't dare to ride that long w/o checking theirs)...now 250f's re completely different they are like a ticking time bomb (if you're a fast rider)Voutare wrote:Since everyone knows that the new YZ 450 sucks balls anyway, like most yamaha products. (Except their two strokes. Those are awesome.)Rallemx wrote:Euhm..Why not just ride the yz250f? They're almost identical..
Damn it Yamaha, I want EFI in my 450.
