Don't expect anything soon, as these things would be really difficult to do. There are certain goals that Jlv would like to meet for this year. I think we should just take baby steps.TrustMx wrote:can`t jvl let us see what he has for sounds for the update right now ? ;d

Version 1.5

Re: Version 1.5
Or let jlv take baby steps and just be happy with it. He could have never updated this game, imagine what that would be like..

Re: Version 1.5
That's what I thought originally, but it wasn't a global announcement, so.. =/
Re: Version 1.5
jlv, I know it might be a bit late, but with the sound crossfading, maybe make the it go in larger increments... You said you want 10 different 'sections'? Maybe make only 5, 10 would put each at 1.4k rpms... 5 would be 2.8, which I think would be still reasonable, and possibly easier.
Re: Version 1.5
It doesn't go in fixed RPM steps (e.g. 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 ...). Each step is a percentage higher than the previous step (e.g. 1000, 1100, 1210, 1331, 1464 ...). If you went in fixed steps you'd be jumping an entire octave at low RPM and wasting samples at high RPM.
I've found 112.5% is a pretty good interval. You need to break it into pretty small increments to prevent the high frequencies from bending as you rev it. To use a musical analogy, what you want is the effect of hitting the same drum at a faster and faster tempo. If the intervals are too large it will sound like the drum you're hitting is getting smaller and higher pitched as the tempo increases.

Re: Version 1.5
Im not going to lie, the sounds in MXS right now actually arent to bad. I can still tell whether the bike is a 2 or 4 stroke DISTINCTIVELY which is a good thing, because In some other games, You cant even tell whether its a 2 or 4 stroke. I cant wait to see what these new sounds sound like though, because even though the current ones do the job extremely well, they could still use an update.

Just wondering how the motor noises were going now? And when you were going to release what you have now? Thanks
