I'd try reinstalling whatever the latest is from the AMD driver page. You might want to try older drivers too. I'm pretty sure ATI users had to go back a version to run Rage when it was released for example.

well i did notice it change when i updated back when, i might go back and install older drivers for better results.

Back from the dead here...
Have never really figured out the strength values since this snapshot. If the value is calculated with 2^x how can we have zero strength (or is that the reason for this)? Best way to update shading raise tool on lower only?

Raise in lower only mode is what I use for reshading. The reason for logarithmic is to give the slider more precision at low values without sacrificing range.
