Hey Guys,
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.
Im fairly new to MSX, and enjoy playing in small doses...hehe still rage alot. But Im interested in making skins and tracks. I have made tracks for MCM and a few for MVA but I havent really figured out MXS...so any assistance in this will be helpful.
I prefer to ride SX, but have found a few MX tracks I enjoy. Im not that good but getting faster everyday.
In closing I want to thank those that have already helped and look forward to contributing to the community.
Thanks,
Poidog808

Get my MSN from DeeO, I'd be more than happy to point in you in the right direction on anything I can, and help getting you making tracks too.
Of course, I'm expecting to see some videos.

This name definately rings a bell...
Welcome, and a piece of advice: treat this community with respect and they will do the same.
Unfortunately there is no one place to find all the information necessary to play and create content for this game. Search is your friend, and there are some good tutorials...if you (at least act like you have) try to find a way to do something and can't, people will help you. If it's real obvious you are too lazy to figure something out on your own....don't expect much help!

Thanks for the welcomes and advice. I hope this post indicates that I will do my best to respect the community.
Skins..
Once I'm given a psd for any said model I can create/modify a skin. Just need to know what color MXS identifies as transparent, what the proper output file is (jpg, png etc) and proper naming for said model. I already have the saf creator and tooled around a bit, but to be honest its quit a bit to take in...for instance, I have already found about 3 different models just for the rider, and being new here Im still trying to organize it all and find whats most popular. (Im guessing DDMX v2)
Tracks...(the short version)
Wow, way different from anything I've had my hands in. And the information I'm finding doesn't lay it out clear enough for me (noob). For instance, MCM and even MVA, I would create a grey scale in PS, import to Armadillo or MVA in game editor, adjust here and there, output texture to PS for detail and such, re-import to editor and add environment models (tuffblock etc)...render shadows, Create the AI path an export to game... Im sad to say that Im completely confused with MXS. Not incapable, just not educated. I know that you get it all the time, so Im only asking willing people to help out (dont want to be a burden)
Sound..
I've actually gotten as far as extracting the sounds (made available by JLV) and converted them so that I could see details, grabbed clips of real bike sounds and mashed the two together. My problem is I don't know how to test...again Noob...sorry. Ive also have been working on seemless looping environmental sounds to give to JLV for possible use, that is if he chooses.
anyway...help welcome, and if you see that Im not up to par with other creators please dont hate, I truly want to learn. And navigating this ever evolving site is not as easy as some may think.

For tracks, you can still use a grayscale image to create terrain.
Everything else is way different though.
For experimentation, you might consider taking one of your mva tracks, and inserting it into an existing track (you need the whole track folder from an existing track, or download the "blank track" - there is a good updated blank track folder somewhere in the track making section).
Textures are done a completely different way in mxs. It's very foreign at first but a very powerful system once you get the hang of it. Worry about that later though

You don't need to add the greyscale, theres one already in there.
Oh another note, why did you delete your youtube?
