Lost download link
Lost download link
Hi, I purchased the full version of MX Simulator a few days ago and then my computer committed suicide. I've lost all my emails and stuff, including the link to where I downloaded MX Simulator from. What can I do about this?

I'm not sure if this topic would come up using the search function, but as said, always try to search first. You never know, maybe he did try to search.

Re: Lost download link
I'm pretty sure that he has a list of people who've bought the game.
Also, it's clear if you've had the full game previously and just deleted it.

Re: Lost download link
So far only one. I was tempted to post it since it was pretty funny. He asked for a new download. I told him I couldn't find his address in my records and needed more info. He clearly couldn't provide it and then he finally says nevermind I've found the link. Of course, the link would have been dead at that point. The next week I get a private message from a well respected forum member telling me the same guy was asking him for a pirated copy.rewrew421 wrote:Just wondering how many people try to scam JLV this way, i know when i asked for another link he just handed it to me i figured i would have to show him my receipt that got emailed to me which i still have but i am a long time member and trust worthy.
People definitely have a lot of nerve!

Re: Lost download link
I can do without people suggesting that I'm trying to scam the developer rewrew421, so keep those kind of accusations to yourself. I can also do without the smartass comments from people telling me to 'use search', which is not exactly a very welcoming attitude either.
This is still not sorted out incidentally, I got an email from jlv saying that a new download link would be sent also via email, but by the time that email arrived the download link was no longer working as it was only active for 24 hours, so whilst I appreciate jlv trying to sort it out, it is still not resolved. I've been trying to sort this with Plimus, who I bought MX Simulator from via paypal, but when I use their link to try and contact them it says I need an eight digit order code, whereas they gave me a seven digit code when I ordered and thus I cannot submit their help form. I'm not very impressed as you can imagine, since I paid 49.35 Dollars for a product I don't have.
I shall PM jlv again and see what happens...

Re: Lost download link
While I completely agree with all the childish "newb bashing" that goes on here (seriously, I go to much larger forums and no one really ever gives new members shit for posting in the wrong place. This is one of the only forums I'm on where there are a bunch of vigilante forum police), it's not jlv's fault that you don't have your game. He sent you a link, and he can't read your mind as to when you're going to be around your computer. Really, you don't have anyone to blame - in this day, I thought everyone who knew anything about computers backed up data that they didn't want to lose.

Re: Lost download link
Actually, it is my fault. He bought the game and it's my resposibility to get it to him.
Alan B, if you check your private messages you will find a non-Plimus link to the game installer. I'm sorry it's been such a hassle.

Re: Lost download link
JLV has sorted this out for me now via PMs so, problem solved. Thank's for your help JLV.
It's worth noting that I was in no way having a pop at JLV with my pointing out my difficulties, he's done everything in his power to help me (twice) and as I say, has now sorted things out for me, it's just unfortunate that the first time he tried to help me, the emailed link to the reinstated download was somehow delayed in arriving to me and was therefore of no use when it got to me. That's not his fault I know, emails can occasionally get hung up. What is rather poor however, is the second link Plimus provided on their email, which is supposedly there to use if the download link times out so that you can get a time extension for the download. That link asked for a non-existant code that I was supposed to have got when I bought it, the code being required in order to be able to continue the process of attempting to get them to relight the link. I tried using the transaction code they did give me when I bought MX sim, but that did not work. I'm only pointing this out since it appears to be a failing on the proxy sales partner JLV uses, which then forces him to ride to the rescue because of a failing in Plimus's system. If anything, it proves that JLV is great at providing support beyond that which he should have to.
So if anyone has been put off buying MX Sim in reading this thread, then don't be, MX Sim is top notch and well worth the money and even worth the (unusual) hassle I've had in getting hold of it. Buy it - you won't be sorry, and as this thread demonstrates, the support I have had with my issue was top notch from JLV.
