MX Simulator

When ever I go for a fast turn or lean back coming up to a jump my handlebars start to shake and I lose control of bike and crash. Could someone give me advice on how to ride different or something in the settings I have to change so this problem wont happen. Thanks

It sounds like your front tire is coming off of the ground slightly, letting the front tire turn, then when it sets back down it starts the headshake. You could try turning up your steering damping, but that makes it harder to turn. Without changing your settings really the only thing you can do is keep the front tire on the ground if you're turning at all.

suspension settings maybe? if your forks are too stiff, have too much preload, or too much oil it would cause this. also, too soft rear suspension can cause it too. try to balance out your suspension a little bit to get a little more weight on the front and see if that helps.

From my experience, leaning forward and using little blips on the gas are good for helping this. If you start to get the shaking even when your doing this, let off the turning just for a sec to that you can recover.

It's kind of a bummer that it happens so frequently in this game, it does become a nuisance at times. I wish JLV could get it to where the steering wasn't so silly, I hate the way it turns on it's own when you slightly rub a highside on the track, almost as if the rider has no strength in his arms to resist anything.

What I hate is how when the front tire is off of the ground the tire turns at the worst times lol. I wish he'd add a button that would center the wheel.

im not sure what you can do to improve the front end wobbles but persoanlly i think we neeed the rider lean from left to right to counter tank slappers or wobbles.
Best thing to do when the front gest lite and lifts get the weight over the front bring it back down best advice i can give you.

making the rider more stable but still fast steering would make it arcade.

jlv cant really do anything about it.

There's still room for improvement in the stabilizer. Don't expect it soon but I have an idea that could be a major improvement.

This is good to hear man, the steering issues I battle with constantly are pretty much the majority of my frustrations with this game. I hope it's not THAT far off lol.

@richy34: I would have to disagree, in real life the bars just don't randomly swap due to high sides on the track. In real life, you have the ability to resist the bars with your arms, there is no way to do so on here. I wouldn't even mind seeing a suggestion I've read before being implemented which was, a button/option added that when pushed increases the stability dramatically. Kind of like in reality if you were to grip the bike with your legs and stiffen your arms, the bike wouldn't swap around so easily. Just my .02

That'd be easily done with a scripting engine. You could just write a script that increased the steering damping while you were holding it. I have all kinds of plans once scripting comes out, I used tons of scripts in UrbanTerror to get an edge (toggle huge map, lower FOV toggle (kinda like ADS), lower sensitivity toggle, my config was so big I had to split it in to two files.

wouldnt this just exaggerate the swap/tank slapper? i havent ridden MX in years, but i ride street and youre supposed to stay loose on the bars, even in a tank slapper. if you stiffen up the oscillations travel through your arms and into the bikes frame, making the headshake even worse.

i dont think the steering in game is too bad, once you get used to it. took me forever though! there are weird things that happen sometimes, and its obvious JLV knows otherwise he wouldnt be still working on things to improve it!

Are you going to use javascript when we get scripts jlv, or something game specific?

I'd go with Javascript unless there was a huge performance problem with it.

Off to learn Javascript .

I know some Java but don't know anything about using files and reading files in it, and I'm assuming it's pretty different from Javascript.
