i can just now ride about a full (somewhat fast) lap without a wreck: that is, until i hit the whoops all i do is get the bike as straight as possible and i pin it and lean back, i almost always washout like this. how do you guys hit the whoops? its gettin annoying. i am runnin the stock bike settings, should i change them too or is it jus my technique? thanks for all help.
better, i can actually make it across most of the time, but still if i hit them just the littlest bit crooked, ill wreck no doubt, thanks for the help but can you or someone else give me some more techniques??
when i go into a whoop section i either am completely leaning foward or i lean back just when i hit the first whoop into the rest of the section maybe a little before and then lean foward and have a consistent throttle point through the section with most people manually shifting 2nd gear or maybe 3rd would be good for automatic just have a consistent throttle point through it so ull be able to make the turn

Just hit em in 1st gear pinned

I dont hit them pinned and unless they are really long I stay in first. I enter at about 1/2 throttle and hold that for shorter sections or go up to full for longer sections, if they are really long I will shift about 5 whoops in and pin it in second. I lean back when I hit the first one and from there just stay neutral on the bike until the corner.
The forums are for constructive feedback. Not smart ass remarks from the guys who been playing a long time, and don't want to see you become faster then them, so they tell you the wrong way to do something?!
So if you are playing a F1 racing game, does the community assume everyone races formula one? That's the problem with the MX community in general. Most of the guys are dicks and expect you to know everything and if you don't they give you some smart ass remark. I personally ride and have been since I was 6 and my Dad has been riding/racing his whole life. I would assume there are ppl here who know nothing about motorcycles and would like to think the more experienced riders would be more then happy to assist.
Also do you really have time to post something 'sarcastic' but not beneficial to the OP? I just don't understand the purpose of posting something that isn't worth posting
its a bit different comparing F1 to mx as F1 is millions and mx isn't, a lot of people that play mxs give the advice to help and there was plenty in the thread, so one 'smart arse' comment isn't going to hurt. I appreciate it wasn't helpful and im sorry but even if you don't ride is pretty clear that that would throw you side ways and buck you off the bike.
you do not hit whoops in this game like you would in real life. so both of your arguments are invalid. IRL, you would likely upshift to 3rd maybe even 4th to go through a set of whoops. you also have side to side control and can grip/squeeze the bike with your knees. some riders might even position their feet on the pegs differently. and further more, you could actually have the choice of jumping through the whoops IRL which doesnt exactly work in this game either for some reason.
that being said, 1st gear, as fast as you can go and still make the corner. i dont touch my joy stick unless im starting to go crooked.
