Game trouble

Post by FlyinHigh »

Hey i was wondering if anyone could tell me why when i play by myself or online an regardless of grapahic settings i get like a skip while im playing. Now it ran fine during the ax race last night with 70 people in the server on next to maxed graphics, completely smooth. However even if i go into a sx or national (anything not super tiny) the game has a skip to it. i noticed this after i one day tried to mess with my nvidia settings. It continued to do it even after i reset it all back to the way it was and run really low graphics. I just dont understand... if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

If your textures don't fit in graphics memory, it will stutter every time it copies a texture to the graphics card. Lower "Model Texture Detail" to solve this.

If you have "Ground Texture Resolution" set too high it can also cause a slow frame when it updates the ground textures. If it's smooth when you're stationary but stutters when you move that's probably the problem.

the thing is jlv ik my cards arnt lacking becuase my buddys pc did the same thing and i ran last nights race on next to full settings with a 512x512 resoulution and everything else about maxed out with 70 ppl in the server and my game ran 100% smoothly with no issues at all, then when i go on a sx by myself even it skips. usually the skip happens when i accelerate or slow down.

I forget who it was but that was a pretty funny one!

Flying, all I'm doing is listing the things that can cause a framerate hitch. It's hard to say what the exact culprit is. Using Prodigy's example, someone had their screenshot and throttle on the same key and it obviously wasn't the first thing you'd think of!

I assume you tried lowering the texture settings and it didn't help?

You realize that this game only runs off of one graphics card right? So basically you have only one card at use...
