Updated Track Decals Tutorial!!??

Sorry to be a bother, but Im in the process of making a track, and I am at the decals stage, I want it looking great, so i was wondering if there is an updated tutorial on this subject, that maybe includes Shaders as-well, I have absolutely no idea on this subject, and before you say "have you searched" I have and the latests one was from like 2010. I have to mention I suck at searching.

the original decal tutorial works but nobody has made a terrain shaders tutorial for making normals and to get that all going yet
