Changes:
  • Now checks for .scram files when listing skins.
  • Fixed out of sync gate drop when spectating online.
  • Moved initial bike positions to behind gate instead of the north end of the map.
  • Dab force is now only applied when the steering position warrants it.
  • Max dab speed increased to 60.

Replace mx.exe or mxbin with one of the above files. The default location for mx.exe should be "C:\Program Files\MX Simulator". I'd keep a backup of the originals since these aren't well tested.

Did you put the dab speed in because of Mark's flat track topic?

Looks pretty cool with his leg out coming back onto SX start straights for almost the whole time, it doesn't feel any different to me with it raised though (which is fine for me) is it only visual?

No, it changes the way the dab force is applied. It cooperates with the steering more now which keeps it from pushing so bad when it dabs. Since it doesn't fight the steering anymore it was possible to raise the dab speed without causing handling problems.

It uses the restricted lock setting to decide when to dab. Basically, when it's halfway to locking the steering it starts applying the dab force. You might want to play with those settings again since they change the way this update works.

Of course the dab speed update I've been whining for for years comes out mere hours after my PC takes a dump. Love me some irony.

Glad to see you're starting to revisit stabilizer related things!

Did you make the rider lift his foot up at very low speeds turning so riders don't shoot across track when getting up? I noticed when you're turning at low speeds he flops over because he lifts his foot up.

Now that I have played with this for a couple hours I'm not a fan, I like the idea but it makes everything feel a little bit different, I love the feel of traction with a higher dab speed but this update makes my bike push alot or at least it feels like that.
I tend to swap the back end ALOT more often then before and the front end always wants to push, I've been testing it on 20 and 35. On 20 it feels like the bike wants to lose the backend more often but on 35 it feels great on the traction side but feels almost unstable. Guess a new full lock speed and restricted lock angle/speed should hopefully do the trick.

So if it starts applying the dab force half way to locking, the force is still applied from 50%-100% lock?

Now that the leg can be out more often, you should make the leg stay closer to the bike so that it looks sick.
Played with it a little bit and it seems cool to me. Thanks!

It feels like the bike is more planted in corners. Go on the 250 at a SX track and try to slide all the way down the start straight, it just doesn't work anymore. I like it though. Great job!

I love having max dab speed at 60! Makes your bike more stable and adds an extra sense of realism! Thanks
