Ending a race

I have a feeling this is a really dumb question but here' goes. How do you end a race? When I finish a race I wait for all the AI to finish but then the results just changes to final and i cant figure out how to end the race. This is no big deal when running single races because you can just start a new race but in the event series I cant figure out how to go on to the next moto. Please help and I am very sorry if this is a garbage question. Thanks

as soon as the officail results come in its over then you click on the series button in main menu then the next race should be in the list or what ever and you click practice next event or race next event

I tried this and it said the same race moto1 again

hmm did you wait till the vary end like when the total race time and penaltys come up?

yeah i wait until the final results show up and I even left it running for a while after and still didnt work.
