so i bought a new xbox 360 controller. i have treid to get it into mx sim and cant. i went on youtube and followed the vurbmoto tutorial and got the software and it still didnt work. any advice?

If it is a wired one you dont need any software, just plug it in windows already has the drivers for it.

nothing happens when i open mx sim and go to controller setups. but the controller doesnt light up either

sounds like a 3rd party product to me is it wired?

I bought a xbox controller a week or so ago and had this trouble at first. I kept switching usb ports and it wouldnt ever recognize having anything plugged in so I restarted my pc and tried again and it worked that time but only on one of the ports. After that it worked properly.

it is a brandname xbox 360 controller. i have windows xp but the controller isnt reconized. it blinks on the 1st and 4th slots but doesnt stay lit

I have the same problem, this happened to me over a certain period of time, unscrew the controller and search for any mismatching wires.
If they're all okay either take it to a game repair store or.. plain out buy a new controller.
