Changes:
  • Fixed demo backups not overwriting on Windows.
  • Fixed mismatched rider names when racing against demo.
  • Online collision response is now predicted.
  • Fixed another timed race bug.
  • Client version is now 20.

Linux users: http://mxsimulator.com/snapshots/mxbin-2015-03-12-1249

Replace mx.exe or mxbin with one of the above files. The default location for mx.exe should be "C:\Program Files\MX Simulator". I'd keep a backup of the originals since these aren't well tested.

Idk if its the servers or me but it seems really glitchy. Like if you get near someone they start like turning back and forth as if they are in arcade mode. Don't know if thats supposed to happen or not

It's not supposed to do that but it could easily happen if I have some settings too low. With the old code it would extrapolate the other bikes' positions and put them there immediately. The new code lets the other bikes fly when you get close and uses damped springs to pull them to the extrapolated position. If the springs and dampers are too weak the bike will bounce around. If they're too strong they won't react to collisions as well. I was going for soft collisions so I probably need to tighten it up a bit.

Where was it happening?

It seems to be random. I was playing with TSchmidt just abit ago and we were having issues when getting close. Also, when people lag it seems like its 10000000x worse now.

This is what I experienced:
Clip 1:
His front wheel got unusually far into my bike and nothing happened to me.

Clip 2:
Explains itself....

Clip 3:
He got into be, and half-fell and suddenly he's in the next corner, looked strange to me.

Clip 4:
Unusual movement.

Clip 5:
The way the guy I ran into moves and lags.

Collisions in MXS has gotten worse and worse now, it used to be so much fun to bang bars a bit in like 2011, now it's just locking wheels up and bike responses weird.

I forgot to say thank you for the update because I feel once you get everything right with the settings and all it will be better
