1.10 update

Post by jlv »

This update will patch version 1.9 up to version 1.10. This is for the full version, not the demo version.

Window users: mxsimulator-1_10-update.exe
Linux users (untar this in your install directory): mxsimulator-1_10-linux-x86-update.tar.gz

Changes since 1.9:
  • More stabilization after front wheel contact.
  • Force dab during start.
  • Updated frame collision shape.
  • Now ignores quitters when deciding whether results are final during demo playback.
  • Editor now has option to show collision spheres in statue edit mode.
  • Added /mapscale <scalefactor> command. Use /mapscale 2 for a double size map.
  • Online collision response is now predicted.
  • New demo format which should be about 4 times smaller than the old demos.
  • Now prevents other apps from deactivating/minimizing window.
  • Added /demobackups command. Use "/demobackups 10" to keep the last 10 demos.
  • Changing bike/stability settings while moving is no longer allowed.
  • Added --zdepth command line option. Try --zdepth 24 for more depth buffer precision.
  • Separate volume control for competitors' bikes.
  • Added snap to gradient button in statue editing mode.
  • Added /listfiles command.
  • Various bug fixes and optimizations.
The client version is now 22. So if you run a server you'll have to use --min-version 22 to require this version.

The snapshot updates make these stable releases really anticlimactic...

Probably because it's not big enough. Like he said, if you kept updating the snapshots, this is nothing new.

Kinda sad about not having newer models, sounds, etc, but thanks for creating such an enjoyable game, JLV

It's 1.10 not 1.1.

Nice to finally see this coming as an update :)

Not according to the list.
John23 wrote:Probably because it's not big enough.
Or maybe because .10 would be the next step. You could see each snapshot as 1.9.1, 1.9.2 etc. Let's say this is 1.10.0, then next snapshot would be "1.10.1", allowing to make "99 small changes" before a slightly bigger change is made.

JLV, was this what you anticipated with 1.10, or was 1.10 originally thought to be the "big graphical update"? Either way, thanks for the installer, will make things better for sure! :)

We will manually have to remove the zzzstestzz.saf? Or will it not affect the game anymore then just being one more file in the folder?
