Just use the existing numbers as a reference and put the numbers with your font in the same place.
Then name it as numbers.png and you're done

i believe you need to save them as numbers-condensed.png or numbers_condensed.png.... if you have other numbers in your personal folder, just look how they are saved...

Double post ftw!
What you need to do!
1. Download these:
http://www.mxsimulator.com/models/numbers-condensed.png ;
http://www.mxsimulator.com/models/numbers.png
2. Open numbers.png. Look for the red dots, which i think you already know about. You must line up your numbers with the red dots. I started to do this to get numbers 1-3, so you can take a look at my example. As long as the dots line up, you should be golden. Make sure the background is transparent.
3. Open number-condensed.png. Do the same as above. When you made yours the red dots were not in the correct place, which is why they didnt work. The first red dot should be in the very top left pixel. Just copy and paste your numbers onto the .png and move them around to fit. (use guides, it makes it really easy and looks pretty professional)
4. FYI: When a rider uses a one or two digit number, it references numbers.png (which is 512px X 256px). When a rider uses a 3 digit number, it references numbers-condensed.png (256px X 256px)
Hope this helps, i like those numbers.
