I'm just going into the server through the website, launching the game, but yet when i actually type in the address of the server in game, it works just fine.

When you click an external link it is most likely launching an older version of the game. I have this problem too, just been too lazy to do anything about it. I would assume the links maybe open mxs by searching for "mx.exe" so try deleting mx.exe and renaming your snapshot to "mx.exe"

Need to reinstall the 1.1 update, it will reset your protocols. Have had the same problem, that was the fix
