*Steering Deadzone Fix Guide* For Xbox controllers (may not work with others)

Post by Prydz »

Hello

I see alot of people having this issue with deadzone after the latest snapshot.
What happens is that the steering deadzone for your controller will be all over the place.
This will cause you to become very unconsistent and eat dirt alot
I recommend everyone to go and check their values in the config. All the values should be equal. From Throttle_key to Lean_Backwards_key
You can read more about this issue here:

This fix might not work for other controllers. I can confirm it works with Xbox 360 & One controller.
*Try it at your own risk! If it doesnt work, you can try to re-configure it in-game or delete config file.

Big thanks to the genius JVanderlee225 for finding this solution!
And thanks to JLV for this game!

So how do you fix this?
Its very simple!

Step 1:
Go to: MX Simulator Personal Folder --> Locate the "Config" file and open it in Wordpad or Notepad++

Step 2: Scroll all the way down. Change the values to the correct as shown in the picture below. Note! You dont have to change the throttle and lean.

Step 3: Save it properly. Dont save as a different file or anything. Then it wont work.
Just click save -> close the config -> re-open to double check -> if the values are changed your good to go!

Step 4: Enjoy a new life in MX Sim! It should feel like you have gotten a steering dampner.

If the steering feels to slow you can change the deadzone to 0.03 or even 0.01 as JLV suggest. You can read more about this in the link:
