Good keyboard layout?

Post by Citnarf »

Hey all, i just bought this game yesterday and i'm having a hard time with getting the controls to feel right, i am using a keyboard only for now until i can get me a 360 controller or something else (any suggestions?). Anyway would any of you keyboard riders out there be able to share their keybinds? There is so many controls that i just cant get it to feel right. Also what stability do you recommend, with arcade mode off obviously.

Even though i'm terrible at it now, i can tell this game is going to be alot of fun :D

Thanks.

I learned to play the game on keyboard and will tell you, get a controller as fast as possible. But I found a decent layout for myself to be Q= Clutch W= Lean Forward and Dab together, D= Lean Back, Space Bar = Downshift. Arrows for left and right, Up arrow for gas and down arrow for front and rear brake. I know some guys will say that having the brakes seperate is better but that is how I learned to setup the bike and still do it to this day with my controller. Hope this helps, try not to get too frustrated and have fun!

I've been using this layout since i first found out about this game.

Q = front brake
W = Upshift
E = lean forward
A = dab (which i just used as a neutral button, so i know where my hand is on the keyboard)
S = downshift
D = back up
F = lean back
Space bar = clutch
Up arrow = gas
Down arrow = back brake
Right arrow = lean right
Left arrow = lean left

P = screenshot button

I love my setup, i think it works great. Have never used a controller, i've never gotten one for my computer, so i have definetly tryed to get the best layout for keyboard.

I used to do it like this.
G:Back brake
F:Front brake
D:Sit/dab
S:clutch
Up arrow:Gas
Down Arrow:Brake
Left Arrow:turn left
right arrow:turn right.
I used that when I had the demo though.So I couldn't lean back or forward.

My setup. I want a controller bad thought.

Gas = X
Clutch = Z
Front Brake = C
Rear Brake = V
Sit = space bar
Have a bit problem with shifting but
Upshift = Ctrl
Downshift = 0 (next to right arrow)
Lean forward = arrow up
Lean bakward = arrow down
Lean right = Left
Lean left = Right

I have no issues turning at all!

Was wondering if anyone would have somming similar to mine - and jesplind does!
Mine...

Gas = X
Clutch = Z
Front Brake = C
Rear Brake = V
Sit = Right shift (just above up arrow on laptop keyboard - so it's easy to lean forward and sit)
Upshift = d
Downshift = s
Lean forward = arrow up
Lean bakward = arrow down
Lean right = Left
Lean left = Right

Works a charm!
Can't come to terms with a controller - I know I'd be faster, but I my controller's at home & I don't often play there, so keyboard it is.

Gas - Up
Left - Left Arrow
Right - Right Arrow
Z - Lean Forward
X - Lean Back
N - Back Brake
M - Front Brake
C - Clutch
Pause - P
Screenshot - S
I Auto Shift So My Upshift Is W And My Downshift Is E
Its A Little Bit Weird But It Works For Me. :)

Mine is real good:

Left Click: Gas
Right Click: Front Brake
Middle Click: Back Brake
UP: Forward
BACK:Lean Back
LEFT:Turn Left
RIGHT: Turn Right
Right CTRL: Clutch
Sit/Dab: NUMBER 0
Reverse: Space

You can keep ya right hand on mouse, left hand controlling with pinky on clutch! I still use keyboard, it's easy, don't need a controller.
