Holy carp Cobra's setup is good. But if you say this isn't that good for SX I would like to see what you think is good!

Here's my setup, i'm posting it only now because I think it's not bad actually, i got better results, more consistent races from recent times.(without a lot of crashes). These are 'middle' settings, not bad in SX and in bumpy MX. Some parts was based from an old Stocksy setting. But remember i'm using a Joystick and Pedals, maybe you'll have to adjust some settings...
I'll be honored if you try them and happier if you can give me your feelings to get them better. If you have some troubles with other controlers, begin to raise roll_damping and steering_damping, maybe lowering roll_limit_angle too.
I made them to get a maximum freedom on my bike and simulation feelings. Even if recently I enable brakes anti-lock, to be more consistent while racing I keep a good feeling. Remember, I use internal view, try my settings :) (Look when you're entering a race, you can check the well positioning of the head view in other rider's helmet.)

Reminder : Best way to try settings is to go in your MXS personnal data folder. All settings are in a text file named "config." file.
1) Begin to backup it or copy it before making changes on it, with another name : config.2010.10.30(stocksy_base) for sample.
2) Then you can use any text editor to read config. file content, like Notepad with Windows, but there's a lot of better free editor like Notepad++.
(If you can't see the config. file, go into 'display settings' tab from 'folder options' page in 'tools' menu of file explorer window - ["win key"+E] to open explorer -. Then disable 'Hide know file type extension' to be abble to show the config. file. (approximative translations of menu and options name, sorry)
3) You can now select part of config. file content you want to try, then copy it into memory. I hope you know the copy/paste feature [ctrl+C]/[ctrl+V]... You can now select same part in destination config. file, then use paste to overwrite content. Each config. file use same order. You can select from line you want, to line you want the values changes and keep others unmodified (your name, number, controler config, etc).

http://mxsimulator.com/benchracing3/vie ... 21#p121221 The Setup App by Servatis also explains it. It's stuff like this that would fit perfect in an info topic. If no one makes one I might have to make something, if people agree it would be a good thing to have.

I think JLV mentioned that all the bikes in the game have suspension modeled around the RM 125. He also mentioned that the rider is 150lbs.

If you take these parameters and plug them into Race Tech's spring calculator, you get:

Motocross
Front: 0.42kg/mm (stock)
Rear: 4.6kg/mm (stock)

Supercross
Front: 0.43kg/mm
Rear: 4.72kg/mm

I've tried these spring rates in the game and it seems to work pretty well. For 250f's, since they are 5-10lb heavier (something like that), add 0.01kg/mm to the fork and 0.10kg/mm to the shock.

yea i tried the prefers softer valving search thru the race tech calculator for a rmz 250f 2009, would i be better to search in rm125 instead u reckon? i kind of adjusted the preload they recommended lower for the shock and lowered the spring rate a bit. and raised the front spring rate abit too to get it feeling like i wanted. are you using race techs spring rates at the moment aswell?

For some of the outdoor races, i was using 0.42kg/mm front and 4.60kg/mm rear, with low compression damping and medium rebound damping.

For supercross, well, that's a whole different animal. General rule is extra stiff in the forks, and soft in the back.

Its probably a good idea to take note of what spring rates the pro's are using for supercross..... IE: look at their suspension stickers.

For example, Chad Reed was using a 0.52kg/mm fork spring on his bike. (That's a 100 setting in the game)
