Supercross/Motocross Suspension General Questions

Post by ryanhill722 »

Hello All,

I have been learning to adapt to the suspension in this game and felt like i have made some good improvements but also felt like i have made some bad ones as well. I just have a few questions for those who know better then me that are willing to share there knowledge. Hopefully JLV can add to some of the questions i have he the community cant.

Suspension Base - Is the game based around one bike suspension in particular? I have read that its set from the 2007 RM125 suspension and spring rates can be found using a race tech calculator. Is this correct? Or is each bike model set close to the true bikes suspension if possible.

Preload Sag - Is the preload in this game considered sag and if so is it static or free? My guess would be free considering the MM only goes to about 101MM and static could and should be higher correct. So lets say i am going off it as it is sag and free then 30-45MM should be ideal if my spring is correct as well?

Spring Rates - Does this game go hand and hand with the race tech calculator and body weights or should i just experiment on my own with this?

Compression and rebound- Is 50 a neutral zone on these settings? Do they work like clicks in real life? If so would it be about every two numbers is a click or does it not matter? Higher the number on compression stiffer, lower the number softer and rebound higher would be less rebound low would be more rebound?

I understand the rider forward and vertical but not sure 100% about mass. It feels like the higher the number the more weight is back and the lower the number weight goes forwards. These cause different riding styles that i am kind of unsure of. Should my mass be centered and i use my rider to adjust where i want to be on the bike like forwards in corners center in whoops? Does it work like that?

How do these settings differ from SX to Motocross? Stiffer in SX and softer in MX? Does my advanced setup play a part in working hand in hand with my suspension? I am looking for some honest advice and hopefully a few top guys would not mind sharing their input as the information here seems a little sparse.

Feel free to chime in and hopefully we can build some positive feed back to help others out that may have similar questions but never got answers.

Thanks!!

only thing i can help with here is that mass distribution is how high up or low down your weight is, not how far forwards or back it is. higher would make things such as whoops and seat bouncing easier where lower helps for traction, i personally run .48
