First person vs. third person

I've recently noticed how many pros race in first person. I'm hoping for some pro insight on if first person is beneficial over third person while racing. The first thing I think of is how I learned to use manual shifting as I started the game using automatic because all of the pros did for better control. I guess I'm just asking if its just personal preference or if it helps the pros go faster... Thank you!

If you ride in first person you can see your line better but why have a dope skin when you don't even see it

I 100% guarantee somebody is going to say something along these lines: "It's a simulator which means it's realistic and first person is realistic sooo.."
it's also a video game.
but anyways, i think 3rd person is much better because in first person you have little knowledge to what your back end is doing and its alot harder to time jumps and see what your doing. you can also see your competition if they are closing in on you too. Plus you can see your sick skins and your sick whips better
in first person it can beneficial to help you pick your lines better and see whats right in front of you more easily. That's about it.. lol

Preference. A lot of pros use 3rd as well

If you look at EMF aswell, then its more championships in in 3rd person

plus lynds said he has his fov angled so far down so he can see infront of his fender better so there's no way he plays 3rd
