I screwed up when I zipped the 2010-02-06 version and used an outdated mxserver.exe instead of the new one. This has the updated mxserver.exe. I strongly recommend you use this version since the old one had a serious security flaw.

Unless you want to run your own server, you don't need this.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am just trying to set up a server for the first time. Where do I save the args file after I make it?

Sorry for the double post. When I try to launch my server I see a window open for a split second and then nothing. Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Run it from a command prompt so the error message will stay up.

If I just want to run the server to see that it works, I opened run in windows file and put mxserver alcrest.trackinfo it comes up with there error "Windows cannot find 'mxserver'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. So I put the exact path C:\users\chris\Desktop\mxserver before it and it just opens the mxserver folder. I am sorry if I am missing something simple here. When I use the .bat file to open it I can see the window open for that split second but then it's gone without an error.

Sorry again for the double post. But I did what you wanted me to properly now and the error that I am getting is 'mxserver' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Try this:

cd C:\users\chris\Desktop\mxserver
mxserver

The cd command changes to that directory and mxserver will start the server.

Thanks for the help. It turns out it was the trackinfo files messing things up. I had it exactly as you show in the README file so they did not have trackinfo/ in front of them. Once I changed that then everything worked perfectly.

hi guys, I have a question to.
So my server don't work anymore. I have a new router but the port is back open so that's not the problem. Also is my serverargs.txt file ok. nothing is missing and no typing mistake's. Everything is just fine.
But when I want to join my server it keep saying 'contacting server'.

Anyone got a clue what's the problem is?
I already downloaded this update but still nothing.

It's just strange. Becouse it worked befoure and now suddently it doesn't.
