  • Online erode now uses much less bandwidth.
  • Inner radius erosion now reduced according to speed.
  • Added erode_downhill_scale setting.
  • Editor now aware of erode when updating back buffer.
  • Client version is now 28.

Linux users: http://www.mxsimulator.com/snapshots/mx ... 11-19-1369

Replace mx.exe or mxbin with one of the above files. The default location for mx.exe should be "C:\Program Files (x86)\MX Simulator". I'd keep a backup of the originals since these aren't well tested.

If you aren't running a server, ignore everything below this line.

This version changes the erode protocol and required a server update. Here are the new servers. You also need --min-version 28 in your server args because older clients will not see the new erode packets.

The inner radius thing should help with the sx jump kickers. It was eroding more at low speed which made jumps get steeper every time they were hit.

Gracias seƱor.

I know you've been busy working on the erode stuff but I'm just curious. Any progress on the scripting?

No. The erode stuff is really hard to debug. It takes so long to test that the edit/compile/test cycle takes forever.

This version uses a slightly different protocol for erode. It only works with the server posted below the snapshot links. elsinore.mxsimulator.com:19805 is running it now.

Is this going to get rid of the performance issues of the majority of the players ?

It might be a bit faster. There's still some room for optimization in the reshading code but I thought it was going reasonably fast now. How bad is the FPS dropping for you?

for me there's no problem at all, i have a pretty good computer
but the last time we enabled erode in official races, 40 racers were spamming the chat to turn erode off, there's still a lot of guys who can't run it without having serious issues and sometimes they can't even play (from what they said)

Works perfect, all races unofficial and official should use erode, now we need left and right rider movement on the bike!
