OverJumping

Hello everyone, I have had the game for a couple of days now, and have run into an issue, most of the time, when I am approaching a jump, the bike is screaming to be upshifted, and I do so, however once hitting the jump I OJ the jump by a good 20 feet. I feel like the issue might have something to do with gearing, but I don't really know to much about setups (currently using a mix of Donut Mx's and SYS Kellens). Another issue I am running into is if the bike has the smallest disturbance while landing the bike will freakout and throw me off, now I know that Sim is a difficult game and isnt easy to play, but I feel that some of the crashes that happen to me (possibly due to the setup I have) are a little overboard. I am going to link a Video of me riding around MX149 where I Find this issue most apparant, thanks if you can help, and I will link my current set up as well!

You need to practice. This game is notoriously difficult at first so you need to work out a technique for everything. Personally depending on the situation when overjumping, I either land on the rear wide open leaning forward. The other technique is landing on my front wheel leaning all the forward smashing my front wheel. Guess the last one works due to my stiff/slow suspension.

Just go a bit slower and learn how to compensate for different things as well as time the jump. Practice will make it better :)

You could also mess with "landing damping/falloff" since those momentarily change the nature of the stability settings upon landing.

Based on your pictures you run a 450 which IMO, is unrealistically fast.
(I have a 450 sitting in my garage right now and it's geared higher than the 11/51 (It's geared about 13/50) and IRl you have to hit jumps in a higher gear, with a higher gear ratio, to clear a jump of a similar size).
Run a -2, 2 (It's an 11/51) and that's the lowest gear you can run in the game. It's great for everything IMO. I run it for SX and Mx and on the 450, like I said, is a damn beast and flys but you need to understand that's she's fast and to just let off occasionally to slow down.

Another tip is to try give it gas like how you would IRL. You don't go to your local track and pin it 100% of the time everywhere. Try and ride in game as you would IRL and you'll slow down and should become more consistent and smoother.

Lastly, don't give up on the game! I've only been playing since summer and I've made so much improvement in 6 months. It's crazy. I used to watch guys fly by whipping (Drooling over how they could even do it) and now I'm out there throwing it down. lol.

you just gotta keep playing the game. eventually you will have a subconscious feel to everything and you'll be able to judge how much throttle and gearing you'll need for jumps after the first takeoff, just like IRL.

The upshift thing is awesome though, especially for Supercross. I just spam the up shift button before jumping into a rhythm section and it boosts me forward lol.
