250 vs 450

250 vs 450
I attempted to search (and found nothing so I'm creating a new thread) but I figured it would be interesting to figure why people choose what they ride!!
I ride a 450 because I'm slow and it allows me to make mistakes but still make the next section.
I also feel like I have to rev the crap out of that poor 250 just to make it go. lol.
However, I feel that if I was to try and play this game competitively I should play the 250 and work my way up. I guess that's my mentality because that's the way real life works. I'm not sure how this game works but I'm assuming if you can qualify in AM's/Pro's on a 450 and have never raced that they'll let you ride.
What are some of your thoughts guys?

Negative. rF sx u had to have a Pro license to race 450 class outdoors did not matter, I don't know how EMF is gonna do it I'm assuming the same way for the rF part of it

i used to ride a 450 cuz my corner speed is trash but im hopping down for sx to figure out how to rail corner and hopefully be good to go for outdoor which im 699 times better at

I rode solely 250/125 for 5 years before I started to glance at using the 450 more than once a year. I'm still a 250 rider, however these days I ride 450 in most open class races, mainly because it has gotten old to pass people pass people in turns just to have them cruise by at the next straightaway.
As you (sort of) said, I want a 250 "career" before I move onto 450. So I'll do some more year of 250 racing, if I ever move on... 7 years of 250, I'm not in a hurry to leave. I'll just pretend I'm Davalos.

7 Years!? That's crazy. I've heard of a lot of guys loving the 250 over the 450. I personally think the 450 is too fast in game compared to IRL but that's just my opinion. There seems to be a huge gap between the two bikes in overall power. Personally, if I know and it's a track that I dig I get similar lap times. I just think the 450 is easier to ride and I like the lugging style of riding. For MX I do like the 250 though because I feel like I'm actually on it where the 450 is really chill. lol.

I personally started riding this game on a 250, then moved to a 450 for 2017 because I was too bad at the game to clear most of the rhythm sections. Now that I have the skill, I've moved back to the 250 and am planning to race the entire 2018/2019 pro season on a 250. If I do good enough, I might move up to 450s again.

Lol, I got you. That seems to be what people do. I just wish the industry wasn't like how it is. Look at Justin Barcia, he was great on a 250 and I believe it was because of of his revving riding style. Now that he's on the 450 he's not riding as well. I think it's because the 450 isn't to be revved like the 250. It's also worth mentioning that the class in the 450 class is really stacked right now.
I wish the industry recognized that some riders are better on a 250 or on the 450. It seems like the environment to put the younger guys on the 250 and then have them move up to the 450 later. Imagine how fast some dudes could be if they've been riding that 450 since they turned pro at 16? It's an interesting thought.
