For starters, "Erode" is a 5 character string, where "Traction" is a 8 character string.

If you want to go even further, Erode can be broken down into it's character's places in the alphabet. E is 5, R is 18, O is 15, D is 4, E again is 5. Add those together, you get 47. Now, lets break down traction. T, 20. R, 18. A, 1. C, 3. T, 20. I, 9. O, 15. N, 14. This equals 100.

47 does not equal 100.

Analyzing from a computing perspective, "erode" can be viewed as

Code: Select all

01100101 01110010 01101111 01100100 01100101
while "traction" is

Code: Select all

01110100 01110010 01100001 01100011 01110100 01101001 01101111 01101110
(binary, of course). Erode is 5 bytes and traction is 8 bytes. 5 does not equal 8.
